Wisconsin has been in the heart of the heated debate over the election integrity ever since the 2020 election. The Wisconsin Assembly established The Office of Special Counsel to conduct a review of the 2020 Wisconsin election and appointed former Wisconsin Supreme Court judge Michael Gableman to head it. WPR (WI Public Radio) reported that “The Assembly granted Gableman subpoena power, which he has used widely. (Rep. Robin) Vos has said Gableman issued more than 100 subpoenas, a list that includes voting machine companies, officials from the Wisconsin Elections Commission and clerks and mayors from a handful of Wisconsin cities. Several of those who’ve been subpoenaed have challenged Gableman’s authority in court, including in a lawsuit being handled by Attorney General Josh Kaul. Gableman has filed his own lawsuit asking a judge to jail the mayors of Madison and Green Bay among others if they don’t comply with his subpoenas.”
Gableman outlined his findings and set forth a number of assertions and recommendations regarding the conduct of Wisconsin’s elections to the Wisconsin Assembly’s Committee on Campaigns and Elections. After this report, many liberal organizations and individuals (including RINOs) started official complaints against Gableman. In November 2025, the Wisconsin Office of Lawyer Regulations (an arm of the liberal-majority Wisconsin Supreme Court) filed a disciplinary complaint against former WI Supreme Court justice Michael Gableman related to his conduct while overseeing the 2020 election investigation which the Wisconsin Supreme Court has confirmed and will set Gableman’s punishment in the near future. (elections do have consequences) It will be interesting if Gableman challenges this in a higher court or if he will wait to see what the latest federal election investigation yields
Back when Gableman’s report was released, I read it and I was present when Gableman gave a public review of the results of that investigation at a gathering in Chippewa Falls. Many people, including high ranking state government officials did not like what was in that report and wanted to suppress it (including the media).
But now the election investigation has again come to Wisconsin. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has recently started investigating the 2020 election process in Milwaukee. They are starting by vetting previous complaints and interviewing state election officials. It has been reported that FBI agents spoke with the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) deputy administrator Robert Kehoe and visited the home of Milwaukee County Elections Director Michelle Hawley and left contact information.
Earlier this year, federal officials seized hundreds of boxes of 2020 election ballots in Fulton County, Georgia and a grand jury subpoena was issued for voting information in Maricopa County, Arizona. There hasn’t been very much information that has surfaced yet due to them being active investigations. It should be very interesting, as the year progresses, to see what is discovered about the election processes.
