Control of Information on the Internet & Muslim Influence in the United States

Jun 3, 2026

I viewed a video about Islam influence (and control) within the US that seemed, to me, like it was fake and created by AI technology. I tried to use AI to validate, but ChatGPT and Grok could not bring up any article that would validate the original video that I had watched. To search I used multiple words and combinations; word like Mechlenburg, Hagerman, Judiciary subcommittee, etc. I even tried revisiting the original video by using the actual web address, with no success. At this point I thought that the video was fake and AI generated until I went to Rep. Harriet Hagerman’s (Wyoming) official website and yes, I found a short clip of the original video of that Judiciary hearing. Note that Rep. Hagerman is a constitutional lawyer with 25 years of federal litigation experience. This is concerning that the search algorithms make it almost impossible to find articles that criticize Muslim/Islam. Who controls the search engine algorithms in Grok, ChatGPT, Result Hunter, etc.?

Earlier this year at a House Judiciary subcommittee hearing, researcher and former Muslim community member, Ms. Mechlenburg testified that Sharia-based tribunals are operating within the US (in at least a dozen cities) and explained what she had learned about Sharia-based tribunals and their influence within the Muslim communities. One concerning issue within these closed Muslim communities is that Sharia Law dominates over US Law; law that is dominated by Sharia-based tribunals and is a common practice for these tribunals to stray from a US traditional judicial proceeding. Rep. Hageman explained that participants in these tribunal hearings lose the protection of the first, fifth, sixth, seventh and fourteenth Amendments. If Muslim children, born within the US, are raised within these Muslim communities, they may grow up NOT being exposed to the US constitutions or knowing the rights they have as US citizens; especially the equal rights that females have. The constitution gives everybody the right to follow whatever religion they want to follow but it does not give any religion power to supersede the role of the Judiciary in the protection of individual constitutional rights.

Mechlenburg explained that within the Muslim communities, they have their own courts dominated by Imams, Sharia experts, etc. (many are from a foreign country) who act as the judge. The organization, 'Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America' acts as the legal body in the community. The 'Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America' can issued fatwas (a legal opinion, decree or ruling issued by a mufti or Islamic lawyer). Mechlenburg also stated that certain fatwas have gone so far as to issue rulings to kill apostates (traitors) and blasphemers (anyone who disrespects sacred Muslim things) located within America. Another organization linked to the Muslim communities is “FIQH Council of North America”. Yasir Qadhi leads this organization and is associated with ‘The Islamic Seminary of America’ and is the residential scholar at the east Plano Islamic Center and has taught at the Rhodes College. Qadhi was born in the US but spent much of his childhood in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In the US court system, there is transparency - court records (transcripts that are available to the public), attorneys present, etc. In these Sharia-based tribunals, the records are not available to the public, especially those outside of the community and defendants may not be represented by US attorneys.

The most alarming thing that I experienced with writing this article is the algorithms controlling my searches for information dealing with the specific Judiciary hearing concerning the Muslim/Sharia social customs and tribunals. These algorithms control what information you receive or don't receive.
