On Thursday evening, June 18th (6:30 pm), Moms for Liberty activist Bill Brewer will be speaking at the Republican Party of Dunn County headquarters (1414 9th Street, Menomonie). Brewer has spoken at public meetings and events focusing on parental rights, protecting students in schools, curriculum concerns and school governance. He encourages individuals to become involved in their local school, including school board elections, educational performance, and promoting Title IX enforcement. In fact, Heidi and Ella Frei from New Richmond will also be speaking on the 18th to talk about the importance of parents pushing back when their daughters are forced to choose whether they share a bathroom with a male.
According to Moms for Liberty, Bill Brewer has served as the organization's Wisconsin State Ambassador and is a former U.S. Air Force pilot and youth sports coach. In a 2025 Moms for Liberty interview, he discussed parental involvement in education, school board issues, and opposition to Critical Race Theory in schools. Brewer stated that "We’ve all seen examples of educational materials containing destructive political and moral agendas; over time, they can gradually penetrate our schools, unrecognized. Let’s evaluate our materials for these agendas to ensure teachers and students aren’t distracted from classical technical education."
Moms for Liberty has been active in Wisconsin endorsing school board candidates. Moms for Liberty was founded in 2021 by Tina Descovich, Tiffany Justice, and Bridget Ziegler. Its mission is to empower parents and defend parental rights in education and government. Some members have challenged certain books in certain Wisconsin local schools.
A few years back, I was investigating books in the Dunn County school districts. What I discovered, I think was disturbing. In 2022, I wrote. “in Wauwatosa School District, sex education would start as early as kindergarten and would include lessons on defining gender, gender roles, identifying medically proper body part names and learning about consent” (including a picture book).”
In 2023, I wrote “Are there obscene materials in your schools’ library books - the kind of book that if your neighbor read one of those books to your young child, you could call the police?” Josie Pillman has shown me books that are in some of the Menomonie Elementary School District that I do NOT approve of. They definitely were not age-appropriate books.
My question is why are our children being sexualized and groomed in our government schools that we fund with our taxes? Instead of focusing on gender, these elementary children should be concerned with what cartoon shirt that they are going to wear or what zoo the family is going to visit that coming weekend, etc. There is a need for some sex education in our schools but not for our pre-teen children. Teaching manors like respecting each other’s personal space would be appropriate for elementary students. I just don’t think this concentration on genderism and sex education in these pre-teen children, is healthy. Let our children be children.
